Caring for your sunless tan will prolong your results . Avoid getting wet or vigorous activities that can cause you to perspire until after your first shower. Once your tan has developed it becomes part of your outer skin layer. Avoid long hot soaking baths and showers as they tend to exfoliate the skin. Keep your skin well hydrated , ph balanced moisturizer. When bathing do not scrub your skin ,use a moisturizing gentle body wash with your hand. Pat dry with towel as opposed to rubbing and moisturize immediately after bathing. These techniques will help keep your tan as long as possible.
Yes Dihydroxyacetone has been FDA approved for use in the personal care industry for over thirty years. No adverse effects have been reported other than minor skin irritations on allergic people. Allergic reactions are rare and can usually be eliminated by showering . Although no problems have been reported ,We do not recommend use by pregnant woman. Your natural glow will have to suffice until you deliver .
The only FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved active ingredient in all modern sunless tanning products is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). A colorless sugar, DHA interacts with the proteins and amino acids in the outer layer of your skin to produce a golden brown color. This is called the “Maillard Reaction”.
Yes Prior to being tanned you should exfoliate . Do not use moisturizers prior to being tanned as they can clog pores and prohibit penetration. makeup and deodorants can also prohibit absorption and should be removed before tanning session .Please wear loose clothing for after tan, and preferably not white. For the tan itself, this depends on you, if you want or not any tan lines.
The spray tan will last approx. 5 - 10 days. This depends upon your ability to follow a proper moisturizing regiment and your lifestyle. A sunless tan fades just like a tan from the sun . As you exfoliate so does your tan . proper skin hydration is the key to maximum longevity.
